- Stress fractures

- Muscle sprains
- Muscle spasms
- Tight muscles
- Stiff muscles

This is, of course, only some of the conditions that can benefit from massage therapy. If you’re unsure if massage therapy will be beneficial for you, feel free to call us and a member of our team will help guide you towards the right path and answer any of your questions.
What to Expect at Your Initial Appointment
For your first appointment, your registered massage therapist will do a thorough assessment of your condition and individual healthcare goals for treatment and figure out what types of massage will be most beneficial for you. As we offer a variety of massage techniques at the clinic including soft tissue massage, deep tissue massage, relaxation massage, pregnancy massage, myofascial release, sports massage, Swedish massage technique, active release technique, etc., your therapist will help you choose the best combination.
After answering any questions and discussing your treatment with you, you’re ready for your first massage.
The therapist will ensure to perform the therapy when you’re ready. You may feel free to chat with your therapist all you want, but you may also choose to relax without talking. If at any time during your massage you become uncomfortable and would like more or less pressure, please let us know. Your therapist can adjust the massage to your liking.
Before you take off, your massage therapist may show you some exercises or stretches you can do at home to improve your condition and how soon you should come back for your next massage.
You might feel some soreness after your massage, especially the next day. This is perfectly normal and actually a good thing as it indicates your body’s natural ability to heal itself is working!

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my insurance pay for my massage services?
Yes. Most insurance plans will cover massage therapy performed by someone who is a registered massage therapist (RMT) . Our clinic is able to direct bill your insurance company for your massage services to make it easier for you.
If you’re not sure if massage therapy will be covered under your plan, just give your insurance company a call and check. Some insurances do require a doctor’s referral for massage therapy in order for it to be covered.
Will I have to get undressed if I want a massage?
While the majority of people choose to get fully undressed for their massage, you do not have to. We want you to be comfortable during your massage. Our physiotherapist will use the sheets on the massage table to cover you up while massaging other areas so you don’t feel too exposed.
Do you feel any pain during your massage session?
No, massage therapy is actually very relaxing and not painful at all. But, you still may feel some pressure at certain points which if uncomfortable do let the massage therapist know.
How do I decide how long I should book my appointment for?
The length of time you would be booked depends on what you’re looking to get out of your massage treatments.
1. 30 minutes is long enough to have one problem area massaged, for example, your back.
2. 45 minutes to 1 hour is needed for a full body massage.
3. 1 hour or longer is needed for a full body massage that also focuses extra attention on problem areas.
If I’m pregnant, does that mean I can’t get a massage?
Of course, not! In fact, it’s our recommendation that you do get massages throughout your pregnancy which can help prepare your body for giving birth and make laboring easier when the time comes. We can also teach you how to do baby massages for when your little one arrives. Adults aren’t the only group of people who can benefit from massage.
