A Low-Risk, Non-Invasive Integrated Care for Pain
While we do provide hands-on treatment to patients who are recovering from surgery, physiotherapy can also help you avoid needing surgery in many cases. Surgery is often high-risk and isn’t always necessary. If you’re considering having surgery to deal with your condition, chances are we have a recovery plan for you.
We believe and understand how our bodies are made to heal themselves and we can kick-start and assist in that process. Some patients are even able to reduce their prescriptions after treatment because we focus on the underlying problem.
Prescription medications can also have bothersome, even dangerous side effects and often is not an effective long-term solution. In many cases, patients develop a tolerance to their medication and it no longer works as well as it used to.
That’s where we come in.
Individualized Treatment Plan
During your first in-clinic physiotherapy appointment, your physiotherapist will conduct a physical assessment, check the range of motion as well as ask you questions about your medical history. Your therapist may do some tests to determine and measure your current level of ability. You and your therapist will discuss the most effective treatment options available for your specific condition. Every patient we see is unique and so is their treatment.
Often, your custom made holistic treatment plan consist of strengthening and functional exercise prescription along with soft tissue massage, joint manipulations, and other forms of manual therapy such as massage therapy (deep tissue massage therapy, relaxation massage, etc.), IMS therapy, cupping massage, soft tissue technique to maximize the benefits of treatment and encouraging optimal healing environment.
In addition to your treatment session, our physiotherapists have a wealth of knowledge and are eager to teach you more about your condition and give you advice on what you can do to promote natural healing processes and experience recovery as fast as possible. This includes mobility exercise techniques to practice at home, as well as activity modifications that could encourage a healing response.
